Editorial- Schools Losing Funding for Music and Arts

So, coming up with ideas for this topic was not quite as easy as I thought. My whole life I was either into music, or art. I’ve played the piano, drums, trombone and guitar. When I was younger I use to love drawing! My fondest memories in school were always art class and music class, and to think kids won’t have memories like I had, breaks my heart!

Here are a few drawings and pictures to show what I want to accomplish in my Editorial Shot. It’s going to me a lot of manipulating and composting, and very little will be shot in studio.

Drawing 1: I was inspired by the toilet image. Flushing music and arts down the toilet, in a sense. Instead of money, I was planning on having music notes and different art supplies. I was also thinking between a toilet and a sink. If a toilet, it will be similar to the image except including tiled floors instead of black. If sink, it will be a full framed shot of a sink.

Drawing 2: I like the trashcan I idea. Throwing music and arts away. I will have the trashcan full of instruments, sheet music and art supplies. I would like to have some of the instruments crushed like a can, if possible, just for a little extra touch.

Drawing 3: I think keeping it simple is always good at getting to the point. Having broken instruments and torn up drawings.

Fat Tire

I decided to shoot Fat Tire for my Wines, Spirits and Beers assignment. I have a few of their glasses and decided to go for a pouring shot. I’m very happy with the way it turned out, clean and simple. I shot it from behind with a soft box to the right of it. Here is the final product!

Mimic The Master

Below are some of the images that I would like to recreate for my “Mimic The Master” assignment.

The Tail of The Malfuntioning CF Card

After a very traumatizing and stressful weekend, I finally feel as if I can breath! For now on I’m shooting everything one TWO cards.

I shot my Fashion/Fantasy assignment, and was excited to go home, check them out, and edit them, but the joy quickly went away when I tried transferring the images from my CF card to my Laptop, and my laptop crashed and messed up my card!

I tried at least twenty different card recovery programs on multiple different computers, had a friend and my dad both try to help, and nothing seemed to work!

But then, Card Recovery came to my rescue, I recommend this to anyone and everyone, it was the only program that worked, even SanDisk Card Rescue Pro, which came with the card, did not work.

Dogs In Jail [Operation Second Chance]

Operation Second Chance is a program at the Gwinnett County Jail that rescues dogs and brings them to the jail where the inmates will train and take care of them, then try to get them adopted!

It is a really great program and is good for both the dogs, and in the inmates. I believe they should do this at ALL jails, and save dogs all over America.

Here are some images of the dogs I took this morning!

Beautiful End To A Hectic Semester!

Everything is coming along beautifully!

My projects are coming together, my stress is decreasing, and the end of the semester is so close I can taste it!

I owe a BIG thanks to my beautiful friends, Britney, Megan, and Carly for helping with my Multimedia II and Portraiture projects.

and a HUGE thanks to Lt. Col Donald Pinkard for helping me with my Photojournalism project!

I’m very thankful for all that have helped me, including the inmates and the dogs at the Gwinnett County Jail! [I'll be bringing all the dogs some treats and toys for Christmas Wednesday!]

I will have my projects posted next week after the critiques!
